Summary:

It is one month since the website launched. I would therefore like to share some of the statistics from the site. We had 4.2K visitors, from all over the world. Predominantly from Denmark due to our ad experiments here. We are also tracking buying interest, by tracking the number of people clicking on the "buy" button. 5.9% of all visitors have taken the time to find and click this button.

It is one month since the website launched. In the spirit of transparency, I would like to share some of the statistics from the site. The launch aimed to collect data about the market for a garden robot like the weeding robot. We know many already have a robotic lawn mower and see the value it can provide. but guessing is easy, knowing is the hard part. We needed data to support our decision making.

Collecting The Data

We have been using a tool called "plausible.io". It is a privacy-friendly Google Analytics alternative. Plausible is compliant with GDPR, CCPA and PECR. We believe that we can collect the metrics we need without violating the privacy of the visitors. We are tracking a lot of different things. Visitor count, time on page, email sign up, but most important is the "showing buy interests" or SBI.

The Data

In the first month, we had 4.2K visitors. They are from all over the world but mostly from denmark. Why? As we are a danish based company we made an ad campaign tailored to the Danish market. We also had all our website translated into danish. This was to gain insights into how a local ad/webpage performed relative to an international English one. As it turns out it makes a huge difference.

SBI - Showing Buy Interests

One could say, that the fact that people are on the page in the first place shows buying interest. We have taken it a step further and tracked how many clicked on the "buy" button. We made the button fairly neutral and hidden in the design. The aim was that you should actively look for it to find it.

5.9% of all visitors were so intrigued that they took the time to find the button. Just to be met with the message that pre-order is not yet open. Sorry about that.

Whats Next For the Site

As we move along with the development of the prototype we hope to share videos, images, and other facts about the product. We will keep refining the content, and add more as we progress with development.
